Prioritize compound lifts over isolation lifts. 3 or 4 sets of 10 to 15 reps, adjust on your capacity, add more weight/set/rep to improve. And remember, recovery is as much as important, so rest.

match volume of opposing movement patterns
i.e. for each set of horizontal pushing exercises (bench press), add an equal number of horizontal pulling exercises (rows).
