The Philippines is trying to procure so many things at once, when they should've focused on defensively. I think the Army should have been the biggest priority, giving them more SAMs and Manpads to deny the skies, more TOW and anti ship missiles and the most important of all, drones. The Naval upgrades and Airforce maybe necessary, but it is costly, and having seen the war in Ukraine which is mostly characterized by drones and Artillery duels says a lot.

Russia's Airforce is struggling to maintain air superiority because of Manpads, SPAAGs, and SAMs and its Navy having a no show and losing many ships. I do like to see Landing Platform Docks to give the military mobility in defending the islands, since it can carry more weight than a plane and the geography of the Philippines is in its advantage.

I think, the Philippines should focus on Drones, loitering munitions, Manpads and SAMs, Artillery and TOWs or ATGMs. I feel like they are more cost effective than buying a jet or a warship.

Couldn't agree with you more. Doesn't make any sense to maintain a large and expensive military which burdens the national budget and for a country like the Philippines is almost objectionable given the need to prioritize healthcare, education etc.

Alliance with the US is fine, almost every choice that would favor China is bad for us.

oooh this is a very interesting idea, although going light and mobile was already implemented by our military so technically speaking its already in progress as of now, sadly though we lack the sufficent military equipments to fully utilize such concept although it would be really nice if the goverment focuses on this concept more kasi tama nga naman yan being light and mobile would certainly be beneficial to us given that our topography and geography doesn't really allow us to utilize heavy equipment but still, in terms of firepower we still need to implement heavy mechanized doctrine in our country kasi hindi naman talaga maiiwasan ang land invasion to the philippines

I think Army should not be in charge of the defense of the skies and seas. Yes, we need SAMs and TOWs and MANPADs, hell we need kamikaze drones too. But the branch manning them should be the airforce/navy so they can better coordinate the defense of their sectors.

kung kaya lang talaga ng administrasyon, at ng mga nasa pwesto na pigilan yung kati ng mga kamay nila, way better sana ang military sector as well as yung healthcare at kung ano ano pang divisions na need suportahan ng funding. ang daming pera na sana nagagamit sa mabuti, napupunta lang sa mga bulsa. sobrang nakakalungkot.

The American military has thought of this plan before. Quick light infantry regiments being deployed via buggies. More mobile in the tactical sense, but very delicate for the infantry if they lack the proper training.
