Ano ang opinyon nyo about this topic? May nangyayari bang ganito sa Pilipinas? Is this a western thing, this cancel cuture o meron din nito sa ibang mga bansa't kultura na hindi western? Dapat ba tayong matakot dahil dito?

Para sa akin itong dalawang bagay na ito ang Social media, na may tendency na pagsamahin all "like-minded" people into one room or page, at ang Cancel culture, ay para sa akin napaka-makapangyarihang bagay na pwede gamitin para mang-intimidate ng isang tao o grupo na ayaw ng mga nang-ka-cancel, kahit walang katotohanan ang mga paratang, may mob rule sa Cancel cuture that ensures na hindi makakabangon sa pagkakadapa ang subject na kina-cancel.

Rampant na yung cancel culture dito sa PH. Take Toni Gonzaga for example. We should always listen to different sides of the story bakit cinacancel yung bagay o tao.

Cancel culture is the "di na natin bati yan" of the internet hahahaa. I agree a good majority of twitter outrage is overblown, Pero tbh, some people deserve to be cancelled naman talaga, hell, dapat nga imprisoned eh.

Cancel culture is a western thing na matagal tagal na nageexist and recently Filipinos have adapted it into mainstream social media, cancel culture is both a bad and good thing in my opinion. The power the people have is scary lalo na when they decide to gang up on someone and that someone ends up innocent, the bad side here is that people find something that you did years ago and destroy you over it, but again it depends on what you did which is the bad thing sa cancel culture kasi even the smallest details they would make big. The good thing here is that injustices that had been done a long time ago will be brought up again, an example is when a famous artist sexually assaulted someone that artist can be brought to social justice which for me is good.

Who decides on what or who deserves to be cancelled? This is a gateway to authoritarianism.
Marami dyan naghahalungkat ng mga "cancellable" tulad ng mga nasabi ni X or Y nung 5~ years ago para lang mag instigate ng witch hunt kasi hindi sila agree sa opinion ng tao na ito. It's just censorship woke edition. Some of these allegations only pop out once you go against the grain or have a different opinion than what is the "current thing". So if may masama syang nagawa or nasabi dati bakit ngayon lang naglabasan yung mga victim? Sometimes it's just motivated by something else and usually it is politics.

Sa pilipinas naka depende ang cancel culture sa crab mentality. Kung sino gusto nila hatakin pababa yung ang icacancel nila.
