Have Pinoys become more liberal?
According to the "2014 National Sex I.Q. Survey" conducted by FHM Philippines, majority of Filipinos are open to recording their own sexual experiences.
The poll, which had 2,374 respondents, was published Monday on the official website of the men's magazine.
It mainly quizzed participants on their knowledge about sex-related facts, such as the effect of menopause on women's arousal, the shelf life of a latex condom, the possibility of getting pregnant without penetration, and the supposed correlation of feet and penis size, among others.
When it comes to "seriously [considering] making their own private sex tape in the future," 65% of the respondents said yes.
This, despite the viral spread of the respective private videos of celebrities.
In an interview on Umagang Kay Ganda last year, relationship expert Dr. Margie Holmes explained why there are some couples who want to record themselves having sex.
According to Holmes, it is usually the men who bring this up. She said they tend to do it as they look for a "remembrance” of their intimate moments, to feel that they are “macho,” or out of curiosity.
Girls, on the other hand, are often carried away by their emotions and “love” for their partners, Holmes added.
“Ang mga babae, bakit sila pumapayag? Una, in love sila eh. ‘Yun ‘yun eh. At hindi ko ine-encourage ito, kasi kahit in love ka, nag-iisip ka pa rin,” Holmes said. “At saka ‘yung idea noon na ‘kung mahal mo ako, gagawin mo ito, magse-sex tayo o ise-sex video mo ako.”
Holmes advised couples to get to know each other first and be careful not to get carried away by their emotions as they may regret their actions later. —report by ABS-CBNnews.com
