The arraignment of two police officers implicated in the "hulidap" incident along EDSA-Mandaluyong has been postponed, with the suspects claiming threat to their lives, a television report said Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Joseph de Vera and PO2 Jonathan Rodriguez, who are both facing charges of robbery in band and kidnapping for ransom, also asked to be transferred to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center, the same report said.
The arraignment for the two was moved by the Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court to October 8, it added.
Meanwhile, most of the other suspects have been given extended deadlines to submit their counter-affidavits.
On Monday, a report on GMA News TVs News TV Live said suspects SPO1 Ramil Hachero, PO2 Ebonn Decatoria, PO2 Weavin Masa, Sr. Insp. Allan Enlano, as well as Jerome Datinguinoo and Mark dela Paz, were allowed to submit their counter-affidavits until 2 p.m. Friday.
On the other hand, the lawyer of dismissed Police Inspector Marco Polo Estrera and Oliver Villanueva will have until 2 p.m. Monday to do the same. He was also ordered to bring his clients, both of whom still at large, before the prosecutor.
Assistant Provincial Prosector Michael Henson Dayao has issued a subpoena for the suspects, saying that they must personally appear before the Mandaluyong Prosecutors Office to swear under oath.
