(UPDATED 6:00 p.m.) -- A tropical storm may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Sunday evening, said the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Once it enters PAR, it will go by the name 'Glenda' (international name: Rammasun)
As of 4:00 p.m. todat, the storm is 1,150 km east of the Bicol Region and is expected to move west at 23 kilometers per hour.
It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 80 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA warns the public to brace for rains and floods the whole week as 'Glenda' is expected to make a landfall on Wednesday.
'Glenda' will start affecting the Bicol region and the province of Quezon beginning Tuesday, as it moves towards Central Luzon.
By Tuesday evening, Southern and Central Luzon, including NCR (Metro Manila) should prepare for gusty winds that will become stormy until Wednesday.
Floods and landslides should also be expected in Region 3, some areas of Region 1, and Region 2.
