Yes, for many job applications, especially in traditional industries and professions, a person's educational background remains an important factor

  1. Entry-Level Jobs: For many entry-level positions, especially those that do not require specialized skills or advanced degrees, employers may place more emphasis on factors like relevant work experience, internships, and soft skills (communication, teamwork, problem-solving) rather than the specific school or degree.
  2. Specialized Professions: In certain professions such as medicine, law, engineering, and academia, having the appropriate degree from a reputable institution is often a non-negotiable requirement due to the specialized knowledge and skills needed for these roles. Licensing and certification requirements may also be tied to specific educational backgrounds.
  3. Reputation of the School: Some employers may consider the reputation and ranking of the school you attended when evaluating your application. Attending a prestigious institution can be seen as an indicator of a strong educational foundation.
  4. Advanced Degrees: If you're applying for a job that typically requires an advanced degree (e.g., a master's or Ph.D.), having the relevant degree can be crucial. However, even in these cases, other factors like work experience and accomplishments may also play a significant role.
  5. Experience and Skills: Work experience, internships, co-op programs, and skills relevant to the job are becoming increasingly important in many industries. Employers often value practical, hands-on experience that demonstrates your ability to perform the job's tasks effectively.
  6. Networking and References: Personal connections and professional networks can also be influential in job applications. Having strong references from individuals who can vouch for your skills and character can sometimes outweigh educational qualifications.
  7. Continuous Learning: In a rapidly changing job market, the ability to adapt, learn new skills, and stay up-to-date with industry trends can be just as important as formal education. Demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning can enhance your employability.
  8. Industry and Location: The importance of education can vary by industry and location. Some industries may have stricter educational requirements, while others may prioritize practical experience.
Some do but HINDI lahat. In my case, may particular school akong kinukunan ng interns kasi gusto ko curriculum nila. So mataas hiring rate sakin ng particular school na yun pero at the end of the day depende pa rin sa empleyado if he got what ot takes to be part of my team. Pero kailangan mo ng school, formal o informal man yan.

Sa local companies need nila college graduate para matanggap on certain positiona nd even get a promotion. Well may mga outliers pa din at hindi sila madami dahil hindi yun ang norm sa atin.

Sa foreign, yes mahihire ka for your skillset and experience pero how will you get the skillset and experience if hindi ka mag-aaral, college man yan o self-study or thru bootcamps. Then need mo para din may maghire sayo to gain experience, project or timebased man yan. You can still do your own projects and showcase your skills. But at the end of the day, may edge ang pumasok sa school formal or informal man yan.

Real talk:
madami ayaw pumasok sa school at magwork kaagad. Hindi naman nagseself study. Gusto kumita lang kaagad. Well kikita kayo kaagad pero dont expect to earn more kung hindi kayo mag-aaral (formal o self study) ng nga new skillset. Mapagiiwanan lang kayo. mas maganda parin kapag nakapagtapos ka katzmate :)

Meron talaga. Medyo malaki din kasi ang difference sa quality, on average ng mga fresh grads from iba't ibang school
