Generally okay na walang heatsink lalo na if higher end boards kasi yung nvme cover sa mobo eh enough na yun na heatsink. Only time I think you would want is if very heavy ka sa write sa SSD mo (think 4k video dumping from drive na day to day) or pangit thermals around sa paglalagyan ng nvme stick sa board mo (yung sobrang pangit talaga).

I'm planning to upgrade and finally buy a new SSD
Feel ko may huge difference kapag overuse.
Pero let's say for normal/gaming lang mag spend ka ba extra for the heatsink?
in my experience, adding extra heatsink make my nvme more cold, and speed more stable

Solid State Drives exhibit peak efficiency within a specific temperature range. Extreme temperatures, whether excessively hot or cold, can adversely affect their overall performance. If the SSD slot is strategically positioned with ample airflow, the installation of a heatsink may become unnecessary. Typically, the cooling capacity of case fans proves sufficient to regulate SSD temperature, with potential exceptions in exceptionally compact and high-performance configurations.

Unless your ssd is absolutely top off the line ridiculously bonker fast, then you might need to use heatsink. Other wise pointless question.

yes, like cpus, nvme ssds performance lowers at high temperature.
