As the deadline for the national sim card registration approaches, curious to know what are other people’s thoughts and attitudes towards this, like in terms of its potential effects on (data) privacy etc.? lalo na within a community like this. Also, have you guys registered already? If either yes or no, why?

I know this is late, pero I reluctantly registered my SIM back in January. While in theory I'm all for it, may reservations ako because of the current state of PH cyberspace and cybersecurity

Same here. Deadline’s been extended since I posted this, but can’t help but to constantly be wary of the particulars of this matter moving forward, especially against the backdrop of the present state of cybersecurity etc. in the country. Hope to be proven wrong, though.

I guess, we all hope to be proven wrong. Aside from the state of cybersec, Good luck sa servers sa deadline lalo na kung di kayanin yung load (dami ng entries and access to the server) at di sila mag-crash

Personally it doesn't really change much for me, or affect me for that matter.

Like, nabigay ko na personal info ko nung nagverify ako for gcash. Still scary if magkakaron ng data breach pero ayun nga, we can't really do anything about it since most of us need our numbers.

Also, I'm for sim registration. Gusto ko lang matapos na ung spam texts and calls (but I'm not 100% convinced na matitigil sila lol)
