Binondo and Banawe (QC) are really good places for Chinese food if you're looking for those for food trips. Sadly, not a lot of "food trip" areas (the ones with a lot of affordable/swak restaurants) where you can explore and dine in most places without running out of cash. Tomas Morato (QC) is good but usually pricey (for a food trip) ung places.
