Description
Hello and welcome to the Introduction to Embalming & Mortuary Science course. This introductory course is intended for complete beginners and will give you a basic, but exciting overview on Mortuary Science and what is required to Embalm a body and how it is carried out.The course contains a mixture of photographs, videos, simulations and cartoons.I will cover what chemicals, equipment and instruments should be used and also cover the topic of decomposition. This section has content which viewer discretion is advised as it includes sensitive content of time-lapse videos of pig carcasses going through the decomposition process, and images of bodies at varying stages of decomposition. I will go over where a body should be stored, and how a body who has not been subject to a Post Mortem should be embalmed. In this section, there are no videos of the embalming process for confidentiality reasons, however there are images and videos which will help you understand this section.PLEASE NOTE:-There are no subtitles and the course is narrated in English (Scottish accent).I am from, and live in Scotland in the UK so please remember that there are variations in embalming laws and techniques depending where you are from. This course does not cover the topics of burial, cremation and funeral procession.Intended for people with basic or no knowledge of the subjects.I hope you enjoy this course and if there is a good response, I will make future videos and content for an advanced course.Thank-you!
