Five German renewable energy companies will hold a four-day training in Manila to help Philippine companies tap and maximize the countrys solar energy potentials.
GIZ and GPCCI will host the third German Solar Training Week (GSTW) in Manila from September 25 to 29.
Some 150 engineers and energy sector stakeholders are expected to attend the training, which will be held at the Doehle Haus on Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City.
Deutsche Gesellschaft Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry will introduce German solar competencies to potential Philippine partners.
The GSTW is part of the German governments “renewables - Made in Germany” initiative, which has the backing of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.
“We are very happy at how this initiative has turned out. The Philippine energy sector received it very well and already, it has resulted in positive developments between German and Philippine participants. GSTW has actually became a model for similar initiatives in other countries and we are so proud that this concept was born here in the Philippines,” GPCCI general manager Nadine Fund said.
She said the GSTW program aims to engage local partners including solar energy companies, distribution utilities, electric cooperatives and regulatory authorities.
German solar energy companies that will provide the trainings include:
- SMA Solar Technology AG
- Conergy Asia and ME Pte. Ltd.
- Inutec Solar Center International gmbh
- QINOUS GmbH
- Vis Solis GmbH
Participants in the German solar energy week are set to learn innovations such as:
- “Mini Grid and Off Grid Roof Top Project Development and Optimization” to be conducted by QINOUS and Vis Solis on September 25;
- “Utility Scale Solar Power Project Development” by Conergy on September 26;
- “Best of Inutec German PV trainings and exercises” by Inutec Solarcenter International on September 27; and
- “Inverter Technologies and Innovations” by SMA.
