Kahit nu nman na sports natin, Kung si maganda program, taob pa rin. It's a complex problem, from lack of govt support no funds etc etc. Pero I can see ung football or soccer nga

Football can be played in the streets din naman. In Latin America and Europe, madaming bata na sa makeshift courts lang natuto maglaro dahil medyo walang budget family nila para i-enroll mga anak nila sa football programs.

Here's my take to this kind of discussions.

Why not invest in all sports? Kahit maliliit kuno ang mga Filipino in general, there are still outliers in the population. Sayang naman yung mga athletes natin na 6'5 ang height or above tapos may mataas na vertical leap kung di sila mabibigyan ng option magbasketball or mag volleyball, hindi ba?

Ang magandang gawin is for every party interested to invest in every sport by introducing them to the Filipino public through localized grassroots efforts and by integrating them to the public school sports competitions more.

I know that most arguments here say that "pang-football" ang mga physique natin, pero the other side to the coin kasi, napaka competitive ng football sa international game. Since yun ang most popular sport ng mundo, almost every country take it seriously, so mahirap ng kaunti mag advance. Farthest we can reach is by emulating Japan and Korea, na nakapag produce ng world class talents who are playing around the best leagues in the world.

My problem with baseball is that making field talaga dapat. You can bypass that problem in football kasi it can be learned in the street. The best players in the world grew up playing in the streets of Argentina, Brazil, or in the poorer neighborhoods sa Europe. Oo need mo ng full grass field for official competitions, pero kahit nasa maliit na space ka lang, pwede mo na matutunan yun.

Investment lang talaga. Take sports seriously. It's a good soft power tool din for geopolitics.
