According to me if people want stable and lifetime commitment. They should patiently wait until the right time and person they come across, irrespective of numerous and periods of approaches. That can either be done by putting on hold or friend-zoning the approaching another person, irrespective of numbers and time period of approaches. Approaches can't be stopped but we can wait for the right person and commit thereafter. I think that would be the best way to commit to the right person and would remain stable for a longer period/lifetime. It is better to be late and commit to the right person rather than spend the rest of the life in anxiety with the wrong person.
Most importantly in the context of commitment a person's character is important….I would never commit to a person that has a physical sexual relationship with their ex's or any other person because first of all, they have already devalued their relationship boundaries before marriage. They will likely devalue the new relationship. There are maximum chances of breaking/abusing the commitment in this context. Commitment in a relationship according to me is not a contract that court orders and has the capacity to devalue it. It is simply the willingness of two people after rational understanding of each other to walk together in rest of their life’s journey …and stick to their commitment irrespective of the life storms.
Endurance is another thing that would help understand the person's commitment. It is an old saying “friends in need is friends indeed”.. If a person leaves you in the middle of the life’s trouble, or just watch you struggling or even tries to demotivate or increase your trouble then that is not at all the right person for the commitment. And predictably, that person is likely to dump you in future.
Therefore, it can be concluded that rational understanding of each other, patience, endurance, and character plays an important role and determines predictability, nature, stability of the commitment of a person… in context of relationship.
Commitment is the best thing you can give to your partner. There are many ways of being committed. In the line of business, you are always striving for the best to achieve the company’s goals and visions. You are doing everything for the company.
For love, commitment is when you are dedicated to your partner. It is when you are doing everything for the relationship you have with your partner. The prime example of being committed is being loyal with your partner.
Commitment can also be defined as being loyal, faithful and dedicated.
