It's time to teach students how to become defenders.
During the old times, war was the norm, therefore a man must know how to fight, even at a young age, they're thought how to kill. But progress in both political and moral philosophy and thought, we are able to have this era of peace. But still, the world is an unstable place with small and big conflicts affecting the world. It's time to teach the future generation the importance of defending one's own country and to fight for freedom.
In my experience with out ROTC program, I am not impressed with how little military knowledge is passed on. There is indoctrination, but not military theories nor any practical application of it is there. The annual RAATI is nothing more than a show, it's entertaining but not a demonstration of military know how.
