Anyone here been attacked by a ransomware? i have been yesterday. All my files has turned the file extension into ".bbii". Also i could not use the internet, Task Manager. And Windows Defender is also down. All completey useless.

I have askes an IT friend and he said that it's one of the worst kinds of malware i could encounter and added i have no choice but to reformat my laptop.

Is there no other choice? And if id have to reformat. Would factory reset using the "recovery" method work on using Windows 10. Or should i reformat it using a flash drive? Thank you.
Nako its the most terrible virus, should use clean reinstall of os or better run diagnostic test to reset everything, Tska no guarantee na you'll recover anyfiles from it just hoping na ung mga valuable files nyo is may backup or may secured copy ka hoping for the best and goodluck!

Reformat po. Even if you pay the "ransom" and they provide you the key, wala pa rin po kasiguraduhan na intact ang files mo.
