Quezon City police investigators have released a man considered to be a person of interest in killing of the mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache last Friday.
The man had been expected to shed light on the killing of Picaches mother Zenaida Sison, 75, GMA News Unang Balita reported early Tuesday.
Police earlier said the person of interest was not considered a suspect or a witness to the crime.
Police are eyeing more than two suspects in the killing of Sison, who was found dead in her house with several stab wounds.
Some prospective witnesses had been invited to give statements that could lead to the suspects.
Investigators are looking at robbery as one of the possible motives behind the murder.
So far, investigators are also analyzing a wet shirt and shorts believed worn by one of the suspects.
Picache earlier released a statement thanking local city and police officials, and expressing confidence that authorities will be able to arrest those responsible for the crime.
