Any distro will work, recommended are debian/ubuntu based, then arch base. Just choose your DE na kaya ng laptop mo either Gnome, KDE, or XFCE. XFCE lightest but I like KDE

For a decade-old laptop, choosing a lightweight Linux distribution can help improve performance and usability. Here are some great options:

  1. Lubuntu: A lightweight variant of Ubuntu using the LXQt desktop environment, making it user-friendly and efficient.
  2. Xubuntu: Another Ubuntu flavor, but with the XFCE desktop environment. It balances performance and features well.
  3. Linux Mint XFCE: A user-friendly distribution that’s easy to install and use, with a lightweight XFCE version available.
  4. Peppermint OS: A cloud-focused, lightweight distro that combines LXDE and XFCE, optimized for speed and performance.
  5. antiX: A lightweight distribution based on Debian that’s designed for older hardware, offering a very minimal setup.
  6. Bodhi Linux: Based on Ubuntu, it uses the Enlightenment desktop, providing a visually appealing and resource-light experience.
  7. MX Linux: A midweight distro based on Debian that’s easy to use and has good support for older hardware.
  8. Puppy Linux: Extremely lightweight and designed to run from RAM, it can breathe new life into very old machines.
  9. Slax: A portable and lightweight distro that can run from USB, ideal for quick tasks on older hardware.
  10. Arch Linux (with a lightweight desktop): If you're comfortable with a DIY approach, Arch allows you to build a minimal system tailored to your hardware.
