Hi guys,

Looking to buy my first car and was wondering if you had any suggestions:
-My budget is around 800k-1m
-Just a personal car for city driving and occasional long trips
-Is it advisable to get a loan from a bank?
-If I buy second-hand, what should I be looking for?

Go for geely ang affordable. Or go for pasalo cars

Loaning from a bank:
Pros: hassle free paperwork, (sometimes), low interest rates
Cons: Requires ITR, some banks are very strict with its requirement

Loaning from a dealership (with in house financing)
Pros: Less requirements needed, fast approvals
Cons: High Interest rates, some does not require ITR

My personal preference on cars are mostly JDM Cars (Mitsubishi, Toyota, Nissan, Honda)
-cheap parts
-mechanic friendly

For second-hand, make sure to bring a trustworthy mechanic to help you check the vehicle! Based on your intended usage, a cross-over or an MPV would hit the sweet spot between city driving and long trips. Here are some worth looking at:
Honda CR-V
Toyota Innova, Avanza, Corolla Cross
Suzuki Vitara, Ertiga
Ford Territory

Second-Hand Fortuners and Montero Sports also hold their value and there are great deals for around or less than 800k

Corolla or Yaris for beginners car
