Finnish mythology is made of magic and enchantment. A nature-based belief system that was ruled by the elements, gods and goddesses, fairies and elves, animal spirits and ancestors. Welcome to a magical journey where you learn about the most important Finnish gods and goddesses, connected to the water and earth. The old hunting magic was all about respecting the spirits of the forest and pleasing Mielikki, the forest queen. This is a short course. It will help you to build a deeper understanding of the worldview of ancient Finno-Ugric tribes and their shamanic worldview. - You will learn why the forest was such an important place in the past and home to many myths and how the forest was filled with animals.- Three most important animals. - How to bear was worshipped as a god and a sacred being. - Symbolism that is connected to the swan.- Story of the giant moose, Hiidenhirvi, who is hunted in the Kalevala, Finnish anthology. - Theory of the moose clan and the bear clan. - Archeological findings that are connected to the animals, such as graves and statues. By the end of this course, you have a better understanding of Finnish mythology and the animal connection. The goal is to deepen our knowledge and wisdom and creativity through myths and folklore by examining the myths and the archetypical meanings behind them.
