Lately, I've been thinking about how much power social media has over our opinions and decisions, especially during election seasons. Is it really fair that platforms like Facebook and Twitter can sway votes just by the content they promote or the ads they run? Do you think this is a threat to our democracy or just a part of the modern political landscape? Curious to hear your thoughts!

I think it certainly can. A good documentary I watched a while ago was about a company called Cambridge analytica that did some very disturbing things in order to micro target the most impactful voters (voters living in swing states, or areas without a clear majority). It really is scary

For most Filipinos who are too lazy to do a background check, social media can really sway their opinions and outlook towards politicians.

Yes, especially in a constantly online country like the Philippines. What is important is having great media literacy in order to identify what’s fake and what’s real online
