1. Download UTM
2. Download Kali Linux Apple Silicon ARM 64 -
(make sure na naka-select ang 'Apple Silicon (ARM64)' bago i-download [around 3GB s'ya]
3. On Downloads folder, double tap UTM dmg file and install (drag and drop lang).
4. Open the UTM app, and click on "Create a New Virtual Machine".
5. Click on Virtualize. (this gives the bare metal performance very much needed for the ARM64 installer. Emulate is for X86 or X64 OS, but can slow down your system)
6. Select Linux.
7. If Virtualization Engine and Boot Image Type is ticked, make sure to untick it.
8. On Boot ISO Image, click Browse and select the ARM64 ISO you've downloaded. Click Continue.
9. For Memory, wag n'yo na galawin, dapat atleast 4GB (4000+ MB) yun, naka set na naman s'ya.
10. For CPU, allocate 4 cores (M1, M2 octacore sila)
11. Enable Hardware OpenGL Acceleration. Click Continue.
12. For storage, make sure na hindi less than 30GB ang i-aallocate mo. 32 pwede na. Click on continue.
13. For Shared Directory, you can select any folders in your MAC OS to share sa directory ng gagawin mong VM, you can select pwede din namang hindi napapalitan naman yan sa UTM settings ng ivivirtualize mo. Click Continue.
14. Rename your VM as you please, then click Save.
15. On your newly made Kali VM, click the three lines beside the triangle play button to open Settings.
16. Under devices, click New, and add the 'Serial' device emulation. (this is probably the most important step on this tutorial)
17. Click on Save.
18. Start the VM by clicking on the triangle play button at the upper right near Settings button.
19. Two windows will appear, make sure to click on the window that has 'Terminal 1' on top of it.
20. Choose Install (Hit Enter) . (Graphical Install is not yet working with UTM)
21. Select Language: English.
22. Select Location: mag US ka na lang, then American English as keyboard language.
23. Leave Kali as host name, and leave the Domain name empty.
24. Create your user account and password.
25. Configure the clock whatever you want.
26. For Partition Disks, choose 'Guided - use entire disk'.
27. Select Virtual Disk, then for Partitioning scheme: select 'All files in one partition', then select Finish partitioning.
28. Use Tab to select Yes, then Enter.
29. For Software selection you can choose the environment you want, may it be GNOME (for Ubuntu) or KDE plasma or just leave it as is., Hit Tab, then Enter.
30. An installation pop-up will appear, wait for a few minutes for it to finish. If you see the screen '[ ! ! ] Finish the Installation', hover your cursor to the upper left of the window and click on shutdown option, and shutdown the VM. Close the other window na kasabay lumabas ng installation window.
31. Now head over to the UTM app. Select CD/DVD and choose clear to unload the ISO (bottom right).
32. Click on the Settings on the top right, select Serial, right click, then remove. Save changes.
33. Click on the triangle play button again on the top right and it will directly boot now to Kali Linux.
34. Select 'Kali GNU/ Linux', Hit Enter, then Log-in using the account you made.
35. Once inside Kali, open terminal and type this command:
sudo apt update
36. Upgrade your Kali with this command:
sudo apt upgrade
*if you see an error Firefox will be your new best friend.
**For things you Must Do after installing Kali Linux, madami sa YT, pero try mo'to "15 Things You MUST DO After Installing Kali Linux" by SkillsBuild Training
***Sa simula madami kang error na makukuha if first time mo, pero magagamay mo din yan at magegets mo kung bakit nalabas ang mga error na yun.
****I also suggest to add the Kali repositories kasi limited lang yung kasama sa standard clean install. makukuha mo ang mga repos dito:
Sa ngayon UTM pa lang ang alam kong nagana when it comes to virtualizing Kali and Ubuntu, and sobrang daming bugs pa din, like hindi ka makakapag-connect ng USB sa ports ng Mac mo, hindi s'ya mareread ng Kali, sa UTM ata mismo ang problema n'ya, and when it comes to detecting wireless/ ethernet connections madami pa need gawin para mag-appeaar ang connection mo, pero na-aaccess mo naman ang internet. Hindi din nagana ang airmon-ng and the likes.
If gusto mo naman mag-gaming sa Mac mo, the best way is to use Parallels, install mo lang and you're good to go kaso may bayad after 7 days of free trial.
Kung may error ka man at hindi mo talaga makita ang solution tanong ka lang dito sa thread na'to para sabay tayong kumamot sa ulo at isipin kung saan nanggaling ang error na yun.
