As a Spanish speaker, do you find English vowel sounds difficult? In this course, you will learn the pronunciation of all the English vowel sounds, especially the difference between short and long vowel sounds. Why? Because Spanish vowels are not as long as English ones, Spanish speakers find it difficult to know when vowels are short or long!We will explore how to say the vowel sounds in isolation, the typical spelling and exception of these sounds in words and phrases, compare and contrast them with other sounds and learn about word stress. If you are consistent and practise what you learn, you will improve and your confidence in speaking English will increase!You will be able to see my face and mouth clearly in each video lesson and I will use a background to show the vowel sounds and example words.This course includes audio files, worksheets and quizzes, to help you practise your pronunciation which can only be improved through listening and repetition. As a language learner myself, it's not enough just to listen to the teacher say the sound a few times, the learner needs the opportunity to listen and repeat as many times as possible. I also recommend recording yourself because what you think you are saying is often different to what you're actually saying!This approach will help you to make the vowel sounds correctly and help to build your confidence when communicating in English.Go at your own pace and take your time. Some of the vowel sounds, especially those that do not exist in Spanish, may take you longer to say naturally. Be patient!
