Description
In the early years we have the window of opportunity to lay down the foundations for a strong, robust skeleton. We only have this opportunity until the body reaches its' peak bone mass.In this short course we will be looking at;An intro into our what bones are and what they doWhat two factors are fundamental in childhoodThe nutritional considerations for building and maintaining strong bonesThe impact of movement, activity, habits and being sedentaryWhat health concerns exist relating to our current food landscapeI aim to make biology and knowing our own body as much fun as possible, the human body is fascinating but we are in a scary situation with our health. I hope to be able to positively influence the health of a generation via nutrition education. Children are not exempt from adult diseases they just didn't used to get them. Future health statistics are not set in stone, they do not need to come true but we need to change the trajectory. I feel that the best way to help to shape the health of the next generation is via education. Education enables empowerment and together we can make a positive impact.
