Japanese news says his heart is Unresponsive is undergoing cardiac arrest.

But only doctors in the hospital can call someone is deceased. So likely he passed.

Whenever an incident happens with someone deceased, paramedics on scene cannot call someone deceased. They'll only say "they're undergoing cardiac arrest." they'll then be taken to the hospital and only a doctor can call it.

the alleged attacker is a 41-year old man named Tetsuya Yamagami (i.e. most likely Japanese, not Chinese or Korean as some online trolls have been claiming!) who resides in the prefecture in which this assassination attempt occurred (Nara) and is an ex-member of the Maritime Self-Defense Forces (essentially Japan's navy). After he shot Abe twice from behind ~3m away, he didn't try to flee the scene; he just put the gun down, which has been confiscated by the authorities who immediately detained him. He is being interrogated at the moment.
