Description
This is a course designed for the beginner or intermediate artist who perhaps isn't sure what brush to purchase, or what type of bristles achieve the effects they are desiring.Entering the art store, or browsing an art supply website you are confronted with a barrage of brush options and it can be bewildering to sort through all the options available in terms of brush shape, bristle type and other tool options. Do I want long or short handle? Do I want synthetic or natural bristles? Do I want a firm or soft brush? This class will show different brush shapes, demonstrate the types of marks they make, and demonstrate alternate uses and applications with each brush. This si closest one can get to 'try before you buy' and will also open up all kinds of opportunities to consider other ways of painting and paint application. This class will also address blending and softening, glazing, and more unusual brush applications. In addition, not only will this class deal with the basic brush shapes and bristles, this class will also show more exotic brush selections like dagger or sword brushes, tree and foliage brushes and comber and egberts type brushes. A pretty comprehensive overview of most brushes available.
