Planning is crucial when organizing an art exhibition; it helps you budget your time and resources effectively. Proper planning will enable you to identify your target audience, space requirements, marketing strategies, and other essential details discussed in this course. Many exhibitions I've noticed needing improvement, and the organizers planned a few weeks in advance instead of a few months. In my 12 years of experience facilitating art exhibitions and 10 years of being a gallerist, I've seen amazing artwork become overshadowed by the errors made in presenting the work, such as bad lighting, the venue not matching the atmosphere the artists or curators wanted to present, or the lack of promotion with no one showing up to the exhibition.
